Excursions

Hotel el Pantano is one of the pioneers who recognized the great potential of Jalapa for tourism development and specifically rural community tourism

After almost 5 years of promoting, organizing and training of potential tourism attractions we can offer you a varied and interesting catalogue of packages and excursions. Due to our contacts and good relations with the farmers and tourist guides, all the costs of your excursions will be included in your Hotel bill so that you do not have to hassle every time you enter a farm or other tourist site.

You can arrange all your excursions to be accompanied by local tourist guides. Up till now, they only speak Spanish but we are arranging for language courses with the National Ministry Of Tourism (INTUR). The rate for the tourist guide is USD 3.00 / per person but with a minimum payment of USD 12.00 for groups of 4 persons or less.

Although most of the excursions can be reached with ordinary vehicles, we can try to arrange for local transport with 4 wheel drive cars (normally with driver included) if you prefer (for some excursions 4ED is essential).

El Pantano also has an arrangement with Budget Rent A Car which offers our quests one day free rent (limitations apply).
