HOT WATER SPRINGS OF Aranjuez

The hot water springs of Aranjuez offer a spectacular, almost moonlike, landscape in which many hot water springs surge at the surface with their sediments forming small craters. The hot water collects in a small river which at a lower point, connects with a cold water stream.

The area is property of the cooperative PROCOCER, very active in the promotion and development of rural tourism and the preservation of the natural resources.

We suggest to bring some eggs and boil them in the hot water pools and observe the power of the hot water springs. The local habitants frequently take water from the springs for their sick family members.

It is possible to take a dip in one of the small rivers in the area, selecting a place where the temperature of the water is most comfortable although it needs some effort to reach the water due to the sometimes rather steep slopes at the edge of the river.
